25 July –¬†Written question to the European Commission regarding EU-Israel Association Agreement – Nessa Childers MEP

1 – What actions is the Commission undertaking to ensure Israel’s compliance with its humanitarian and Human Rights obligations, pursuant to art. 2 of the EU-Israel Association Agreement, including in light of the latest military operations carried out in Gaza, but particularly in the context of Israel’s longstanding blockade of the area?

2 -In the context of Israel’s failure to comply with its humanitarian and Human Rights obligations, pursuant to art. 2 of the EU-Israel Association Agreement, including in light of the latest military operations carried out in Gaza, is the Commission undertaking an impact assessment of possible sanctions against Israel, within or beyond the scope of the EU’s formal bilateral relations with that country, in terms of feasible actions, costs and implications for the parties concerned?

If not, could the Commission indicate why it has so far considered this assessment unnecessary, and whether it intends to undertake it in the near future?
