‘Politicians tend to let their health slide down their list of priorities as soon as they get elected,’ she acknowledges.
Ms Childers details her own keep-fit and healthy-eating tips – with long walks and sushi featuring prominently, not to mention comfortable shoes.
‘One lucky thing for me as an MEP in Brussels is that I don’t have a sweet tooth,’ the independent politician also reveals. ‘Belgium is the capital of the chocolate world and there’s temptation at every turn.’
